During the eighth edition of the “Setal Sunu Réew” day held in Goudomp, in the south of Senegal, the Minister of Civil Service and Public Service Reform, Olivier Boucal, paid tribute to the civic commitment displayed by the population and local authorities. This event, organized last Saturday, aims to strengthen the citizen initiative necessary for national construction.

In his statements, Mr. Boucal affirmed that the importance of this day lay in encouraging Senegalese people to actively participate in the civic life of their community. “This day, of capital importance for the President of the Republic, aims to encourage citizens to become deeply involved in building the nation,” he underlined while presiding over the launch of the activity.

The minister also highlighted the president’s wish to see each citizen get involved in improving their living environment. He urged the citizens of Goudomp to continue this momentum to guarantee a clean environment in the region and throughout Senegal. Boucal also insisted on the crucial role of community engagement and active participation as pillars of the country’s sustainable development.

According to our colleagues from the Senegalese Press Agency (APS), the minister’s remarks are part of a government desire to promote civic spirit and galvanize citizens towards participation in activities that reinforce the sense of civic duty. This initiative demonstrates the emphasis placed by the authorities on collaboration between the population and local administrative officials for a better Senegal.
