Flavio Briatore, executive advisor to Alpine F1, maintains doubts surrounding Jack Doohan's future within the French team. Despite his Formula 1 debut at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the end of last season, the Australian remains under fire from speculation.
The rise of Franco Colapinto sparked rumors that Alpine, under the leadership of Flavio Briatore, considered recruiting the Argentinian. However, financial constraints linked to the termination of Colapinto's contract with Williams, combined with his disappointing performances at the end of the season, put a damper on this possibility.

Jack Doohan should therefore start the 2025 season well alongside Pierre Gasly at Alpine. However, if his presence is guaranteed for the opening of the championship, his long-term future within the team remains uncertain. Speaking to the newspaper Le Parisien, Briatore was far from wanting to commit.
“The only thing certain is death”Briatore said. “We start the year with Pierre and Jack, I guarantee it. Afterwards, we will see during the season. I have to help the team get to a situation where they can get results.”
“The pilot is the one who must complete the work of the almost thousand people behind him. Everyone works for just two people. And if there is a pilot who does not progress, who does not bring results, he will then be replaced“, concluded the Italian.
