Kaolack, January 4 (APS) – The Secretary of State for Culture, Creative Industries and Historical Heritage, on Saturday, in Kaolack, invited the populations, particularly young people, to make cleaning days a daily reality.
»I invite people to get more involved in the organization of clean-up days, to make them a daily reality and no longer wait for the next edition to mobilize. I also call on the youth, who are the strength of the nation, to be better involved,” Bakary Sarr said in particular.
He was speaking at the official launch of the eighth edition of the national clean-up day commonly called ”Setal sunu rééw”, in the presence of the Kaolack regional governor, Mohamadou Moctar Watt, and Colonel Diouma Sow, commander of the military zone. number 3, the mayor of the capital of Saloum, Serigne Mboup, among other personalities.
The day was marked by the mobilization of women’s and youth organizations, members of AS Saloum (football league 2), defense and security forces, members of the Catholic Church and other organizations community base (OCB), the National Integrated Waste Management Company (SONAGED) in the Bongré and Abattoirs-Ndangane districts, at the former Pont Noirot and at the Nioro bus station.
Welcoming this ”strong citizen and community mobilization”, Bakary Sarr recalled that President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko presented a framework, ”Senegal Vision 2050”, and a National Development Strategy (SND) for the 2029 horizon in which the territorialization of public policies occupies an important place.
»From that moment on, the +Setal sunu rééw+ concept is perfectly in line with this approach which consists of making the connection with local authorities to put them at the heart of the progress of this program so that the populations can take more ownership,” he stressed.
The Secretary of State for Culture, Creative Industries and Historical Heritage believes that awareness-raising work must be done at the grassroots, in families, in neighborhoods and in territorial spaces to make this concept a reality on the land.
According to Bakary Sarr, these cleaning days have an impact on the living environment and the health of the population.
