It is during the Mayors' Loungein , that Marie-Claude Berlymayor of , accompanied in particular by Sabine Si Belkacem-Condaminesdeputy delegate for Seniors policy, were awarded this silver level distinction of the label “Senior-friendly city”.

A process initiated in 2022

In 2022, Montauban joined the prestigious French-speaking network “ Age-Friendly Cities” affiliated with the World Health Organization, “thus marking its commitment to the continuous improvement of the well-being of seniors,” specifies the municipality.

Montalban residents had the opportunity to express their impressions about the City on several themes: housing, transport, information and communication, culture and leisure, as well as autonomy, services and care.

A public meeting last June made it possible to present the results of the work
collaborative effort as well as the proposed four-year action plan (2024-2028). Objective: improve the quality of life of seniors according to four priority areas: autonomy, services and care, information and communication, social connection and solidarity and transport and mobility.

A center dedicated to seniors

Located in Montauban, the Senior Center is a local and prevention service that supports seniors on a daily basis. Its team provides practical information and useful services in carrying out procedures.

A rich range of activities is also offered to promote social connections which allow both entertainment and cultivation. Finally, systems dedicated to the most vulnerable are in place to promote home support and fight against isolation and loss of autonomy.

Published every 2 years, the Seniors Guide brings together all the useful information for the daily lives of seniors. It is available in all town halls in Grand Montauban
and at the Tourist Office.

Finally, theLocal information and coordination center (CLIC) is a service of the Grand Montauban Urban Community. A local one-stop shop, its role is to welcome, advise, inform and guide elderly people and their families as well as all professionals working with elderly people.
