Météo France has placed all the departments of Champagne-Ardenne as well as Aisne on snow and ice alert.
« A disturbance will cross the north-east of France from south to north of the area between late Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning », Explains Météo-France.
« The first precipitation from this disturbance may cause temporary slippery phenomena (snow and/or ice). »
« In the north of the border departments (Ardennes, Meuse, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle and Bas-Rhin) snow could fall in significant quantities (locally 5 cm) and persist for a few hours on the ground. »
In Aisne and Marne, orange vigilance is announced from 9 p.m. this Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday (vigilance then until 6 a.m. Sunday).
A new update should be made at 4 p.m. by Météo-France in order to refine the evening forecasts.
Snow before the warm spell
The weather will experience quite radical changes throughout the weekend.
After the snow expected last night, a surprising mild spell is forecast for Sunday morning.
Temperatures will rise very quickly to exceed 10 degrees over most of our region.
