Ziguinchor, January 3 (APS) – The “Casamance Healthcare Systems” association, in collaboration with the departmental council of Ziguinchor (south), presented, on Friday, a donation of medical-surgical equipment worth more than 150 million of CFA francs at the regional hospital, noted the APS.
“This is equipment that will serve the different specialties working at the Ziguinchor regional hospital. There is equipment for surgery, resuscitation, cardiology, orthopedics, gynecology, among others,” listed the president of the medical commission of the said hospital, Dr. Diama Sakho.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony of this medical equipment, she underlined ”this equipment will make it possible to enhance the technical platform of the Ziguinchor regional hospital”.
”It will help in hospitalization and in improving the quality of care for the structure’s specialties. It is a donation that is in perfect agreement with the equipment we need to improve the care of our patients,” she said.
The regional health director of Ziguinchor, Dr Youssouf Tine, maintains that “this donation in the amount of 150 million CFA francs complements the efforts of the State of Senegal in the sustainable strengthening of our health system” . “It will allow our colleagues at the Ziguinchor regional hospital to have more of the means to properly care for the patients who attend them,” rejoiced Dr Tine.
“We thank the departmental council for this collaboration which has ensured that the regional hospital receives this quality equipment (…). We want to improve the technical medical platform of Ziguinchor,” underlined the director of the “Casamance Healthcare Systems” association, Caroline Thiam.
For the president of the Ziguinchor departmental council, Georges Mansaly, “the objective of its structure is to work and enable the two Ziguinchor hospitals to be level 3 hospitals.
“This container of medical equipment will serve the populations of the Ziguinchor department,” he said.
