Saint-Louis, Jan 3 (APS) – The northern military zone organized a blood donation day on Friday, as a prelude to the 8th edition of the national clean-up day, at the regional blood bank of Saint-Louis (north), noted the APS.
´´We are gathered today at the Saint-Louis blood bank to participate in the blood donation day that the northern military zone is organizing as a prelude to the day of citizen mobilization this Saturday, January 4,´’ said at the APS, the head doctor of military zone Nº2, Captain Younoussa Diawara.
“I invite the population of Saint-Louis to participate in this activity because this initiative is not only purely military but also civic,” he said, adding that this blood donation day is included in the framework of additional activities as a prelude to the national day “sétal sunu réew”, throughout the national territory.
“So, we are asking the entire population of Saint-Louis to also come and participate,” he reiterated.
Captain Younoussa Diawara recalled that blood donation requires capital importance for blood banks, often faced with a blood deficit to supply health structures.
He urged the civilian population to donate more blood to help the sick and especially road accident victims.

“Today, we are honored by the Senegalese Army, which mobilized its personnel to come and donate blood,” she rejoiced.
»Blood is a product that is very important for certain patients. So, this activity is intended to supply the regional bank and relieve the hospital structures that request it,” underlined Ms. Lô, also a teacher at the UFR of health sciences at the Gaston Berger University of Saint-Louis. .
Placed under the theme “Seetal sa gokh, aar sa yaram: alongside citizens, the armed forces are committed”, this edition is organized by the Ministry of the Armed Forces, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and Social action.
The regional launch of the 8th edition of the national “sétal sunu réew” day is planned from 9:30 a.m. in Fass Ngom, we learned from the governance of Saint-Louis.
