The number of companies created in Morocco during the first ten months of 2024 amounted to 78,244 units, according to data from the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC). These creations are divided between legal entities (56,292 companies) and individuals (21,952 companies), specifies the OMPIC in the general dashboard of its barometer of business creation.
Commerce remains the main driver of entrepreneurial activity in Morocco, representing 34.73% of business creations. This sector is followed by construction and public works (BTP) and real estate activities with 19.36%, as well as miscellaneous services which account for 18.47% of new entities. Transport (8.07%), industries (7.3%), and hotels and restaurants (5.63%) also confirm their key role in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The sectors of information and communication technologies (2.79%), financial activities (1.99%), and agriculture and fishing (1.67%) record more modest shares, but reflect a diversification of the economy.
Casablanca-Settat, regional locomotive
At the top of the most dynamic regions, Casablanca-Settat stands out with 24,571 companies created at the end of October 2024, or almost a third of the national total. Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima comes in second position with 11,328 new entities, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (9,121) and Marrakech-Safi (8,875).

Other regions also show encouraging figures, notably Fez-Meknes (5,409), Souss-Massa (5,323) and Oriental (4,588). The southern regions, such as Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3,083), Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab (1,308), and Guelmim-Oued Noun (634), show constant progression despite their smaller size.
The most popular legal forms
In terms of legal status, limited liability companies (SARL) represent 64.9% of creations, while single-member limited liability companies (SARLAU) constitute 34.5%. Limited companies (SA) and branches remain in the minority, with 0.3% and 0.1% respectively.
