Christine, her 34-year-old “super mom”, Jean, her 40-year-old father-in-law, whom she calls “daddy”, her youngest and youngest daughter, with whom she left her native village in Mauritius to settle in France. But the little hearts scribbled in bic pen quickly give way to a chilling story. His writing, if diligent, cowers. In equally polished French, but sometimes laden with spelling mistakes, Barbara recounts “the ordeal” that she would have experienced a few weeks earlier at the Jean-Verdier hospital (AP-HP), in Bondy (Seine-Saint -Denis).
It was in her pediatric emergency room that she was allegedly raped and sexually assaulted by a nurse on the night of December 15 to 16. This 37-year-old man, who had worked for several years in this AP-HP establishment, was arrested at his workplace the following evening. After his custody, he was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention.
