“Thank you for these 17 years. This is the last time that I present my wishes to you as mayor of Sables d'Olonne, and president of its agglomeration. »
This is how Yannick Moreau began his wishes, posted on January 2, 2025 on social networks.
He announces his decision to leave his mandates as mayor and president of the Sables-d'Olonne conurbation:
“At 49 years old, after 17 years in your service, the time has come for me to hand over my responsibilities as mayor and president of the Sables-d'Olonne conurbation. »
Resigned in September
The mayor of Sables-d'Olonne briefly returned to the various mandates he has held so far, including the creation of the new town of Sables-d'Olonne, before justifying his decision.
-“Today I feel like I did my part. I did my job. But I always thought that cemeteries were full of irreplaceable people and I always vowed not to become an old elected official clinging to his chair. Those close to me know it well, I have always dreamed of having a private life one day, after my public life. Well, here we are. »
Yannick Moreau will leave his position by September 2025.
Until then, he will present his wishes to the population of Sables-d'Olonne during a ceremony organized at the Arena on January 30.
