A 71-year-old woman died Thursday January 2, bringing to two the number of deaths in the fire at a residence in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles, near Bordeaux, in Gironde last Sunday, reports France Bleu Gironde, confirming information from Southwest. The fire broke out around 11:20 p.m. Sunday in one of the 16 apartments in this four-story building, located in the Gajac district. The occupant of the home, a 67-year-old man, could not be rescued. The flames then spread. Two other apartments were completely destroyed. An investigation into “homicide” and “unintentional injuries” is opened, entrusted to the Mérignac gendarmerie company.
