The Professional Association of Air Traffic Controllers of Senegal (APCCAS) has decided to restrict air traffic in order to reduce the workload, considered too heavy in view of the current workforce and technical resources. This decision aims to guarantee the safety of travelers.
In a press release published this Thursday, January 2, 2025, the APCCAS denounced the “advanced obsolescence of the technical means used for the provision of air navigation services” and highlighted the glaring lack of staff of the air controllers of the ATS center, responsible managing nearly four million square kilometers of airspace.
