Dramatic road accidentthis Thursday, January 2, 2025 on a highway in Hauts-de-France. It is fatal in nature, announced the road surveillance unit at 6:20 p.m., and occurred on theA16, in Pas-de-Calais. Two motorists dieda 61-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man. A third victim, a 46-year-old woman, is seriously injured and in the process of extrication, at 7 p.m.
Fatal accident on the A16 in Pas-de-Calais: the highway cut to traffic this Thursday
It concerns two vehicles on the A16, in the direction Paris – Boulognenear the town of Widehem, north of Le Touquet. The highway was cut at interchange 26, with a compulsory exit towards Le Touquet. Access is completely prohibited towards Boulogne. Two victims died, a third, trapped in his vehicle, is in absolute emergency.
At 6:30 p.m., a 3 km traffic jam had formed upstream of the accident. You should absolutely avoid the area.
