The Escapees is a film released in 1994, adapted from the short novel that Stephen King published in 1982. The film tells the story of Andy, a banker condemned to spend his entire life behind the bars of Shawshank Penitentiary, although in reality Andy says he is innocent of what he is accused of.

This film is a masterpiece, there is no doubt about it. Its dramatic story shows us the harsh life in prison, with characters surrounded by very cruel and abusive inmates, and even the authorities of this prison are violent and corrupt. So much so that Andy ends up working for the prison warden in his money laundering operation, in order to try to gain his protection and smooth out his life in prison, after being the victim of a lot of mistreatment and abuse.
The story of The Escapees takes place over twenty years, during which we meet Andy, played by Tim Robbins, and the friend he made in prison, a smuggler named Red, played by the great Morgan Freeman.

The Escapees is ranked number one among the top 100 films by audiences on the popular film website and database IMDb. With a score of 9.3 points, based on the opinion of some 3 million spectators, the film is ahead of masterpieces like The Godfather, The Lord of the Rings, Forrest Gump and many more.
