A new nursery equipped with 50 places will be built in the district of More from Mingue has Nimes (Gard). The announcement was made during the Municipal Council meeting on Saturday December 14, 2024.
The future site will be developed at 200 m of the current Grillons nursery. This will be destroyed.
Strengthened social diversity
The new establishment will be located at the foot of a three-story residence. Built at the entrance to the district, it will be close to a tram line bus. “This will further promote social diversity in this rapidly changing neighborhood,” explains the municipality.
This development is in fact part of a requalification plan of this sensitive district of the capital of Gard.
More places
The city of Nîmes is facing a very high demand for places in nursery. In the east of the territory, the city is therefore strengthening its reception offer. The new establishment will accommodate 50 toddlers, against 20 in the existing site.
The establishment will be managed by theassociation Samuel Vincentas part of a public service delegation (DSP), during the next 15 years.
“The offer presented by the association responds to the issues both in terms of mastery of implementation of works of fitting out the premises as well as on its capacity to ensure the continuity of public service and its access to all families,” assures the municipality.
1.16 million euros
The precise timetable for the construction of the future nursery has not been revealed to date. The cost of the work is estimated at 1.16 million euros.
A new nursery recently inaugurated
In the west of the city of Nîmes, a crèche was inaugurated on Saturday December 14. It has been open since Monday September 30. 24 children, aged 10 weeks to 6 years, are welcomed there from Monday morning to Friday evening at 54 chemin des Dixmes, in the new Vedelin district. The new establishment was financed by the Caisse d'Allocations Familiales du Gard to the tune of 400,000 euros.
