After the December 20 meeting in Casablanca between King Mohammed VI and President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the Moroccan ambassador accredited to Nouakchott continues meetings with members of the government.

On December 25, Hamid Chabar met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug. “The meeting was an opportunity to review the strong bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, ways to strengthen them and develop mechanisms to serve our common interests. We also discussed issues of common interest,” said the head of diplomacy.

This Friday, it is the turn of the Minister of Finance, Sid Ahmed Ould Abouh, to receive the Moroccan ambassador. “The two officials discussed the prospects for cooperation between our country and the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as ways to strengthen and develop it, particularly in the economic and financial fields,” underlines the Mauritanian side in a press release.

As a reminder, King Mohammed VI and President Ould El Ghazouani “affirmed their determination to develop strategic projects for the connection between the two neighboring countries, and to coordinate their contributions within the framework of royal initiatives in Africa, particularly the Africa gas pipeline -Atlantic and the initiative aimed at promoting access of the Sahel States to the Atlantic Ocean,” the royal cabinet said in a press release.
