The Sded 52 energy recovery unit has undergone major modernization work. The two incineration lines were put back into service for a significant ramp-up in energy production.
Our waste still has a use. Even more than one! More than a year of heavy work was necessary to modernize the Haute-Marne energy recovery unit operated by Veolia on behalf of the Departmental Energy and Waste Union, Sded 52. Located in the Dame Huguenotte area in Chaumont, the site receives and processes non-recyclable household waste from Haut-Marnais. Finally, those that end up at the bottom of the “black” trash.
Modernization and upgrading
This waste is then transformed into heat… Indeed, the energy generated by their combustion will notably supply the heat network of the town of Chaumont. And even more thanks to the recent works which were inaugurated on December 17. For the occasion and to understand how the new developments improved the performance of the site, visits, in particular for elected members of Sded 52, were organized.
