At the end of 2024, the prefecture is restricting the sale and possession of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles. This measure “prevents possible disturbances to public order and the risk of accidents and serious harm to people and property which could result from the inappropriate use of certain fireworks, particularly on public roads and in gathering places” notes the prefecture in its press release.
Restrictions in the municipalities of the metropolis of Dijon and in the municipality of Beaune
Until Thursday January 2, 2025, 8:00 a.m., any transfer or sale of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles of category F2, F3 and F4 is prohibited in these sectors.
More global restrictions across the entire Côte-d’Or department
The use of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles is prohibited, whatever the category, in public spaces or towards public spaces, in places of large gatherings of people as well as at their immediate surroundings and in or towards residential buildings.
The transport of pyrotechnic articles is also prohibited on collective public transport, whatever the category. The distribution, takeaway and purchase of fuel in any transportable container are also prohibited. The sale of domestic fuel pumps is also prohibited during this period (unless necessary, duly justified by the customer).
The prefecture emphasizes that these provisions do not apply to persons holding the F4-T2 qualification certificate provided for in decree no. 2019-540 of May 28, 2019 and to pyrotechnic shows regularly declared to the prefecture and taking place during the cited period.
