Gard. By noticing customers leaving a business, the police make a nice catch

THE police officers Gard nationals had some flair on Thursday December 26 by following two Gardois who entered a grocery store in the city center of Gard at the end of the morning. Nimes (Gard).

The officials waited for these individuals to come out of the business. Caught in the act, the two young people immediately admitted that they had bought there illegally packs of cigarettes.

2 packages purchased, 54 others seized

In this case, each of the individuals checked had purchased a package. This discovery prompted the police to carry out a search of the establishment concerned. This allowed the discovery of 54 other cigarette cases.

Some packages included notices in a foreign language. The manager had carefully hidden them in a vacuum cleaner and in a sofa. That wasn't enough. All were seized by Nîmes police.

A legal procedure was drawn up on site for this fraudulent sale and possession of tobacco without legal capacity as debtor.

570 packages

A few hours later, a crew went to another grocery store to notify the manager that they needed to lower the curtain. The police came to give him the prefectural order issued for the immediate administrative closure of its establishment.

But, as they approached the store, the police noticed that an individual was coming out with packets of cigarettes in his hand. To the great dismay of the manager.

He saw the police arriving at his premises. The latter immediately carried out a thorough search of the business. This led to the discovery of 570 other packets of cigarettes.

Placed in police custody for a few hours, the manager will soon have to answer for his actions before the court of Nimes (Gard).
