While no prior declaration has been filed with the Ille-et-Vilaine prefecture, several “sound systems” are calling for a large gathering in the Great West on the occasion of New Year's Eve.
Faced with the risk of disturbing public order and faced with the health risk that this type of grouping represents, due to the massive consumption of narcotics observed during these undeclared gatherings, the prefect of Ille-et-Vilaine issued an order aimed at prohibiting any festive gathering of a nature throughout the department. Consequently, from Sunday December 29, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. to Thursday January 2, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., the following are prohibited throughout the territory of the Ille-et-Vilaine department:
- festive gatherings of a musical nature meeting all of the characteristics set out in Article R. 211-2 of the Internal Security Code, with the exception of those legally declared or authorized,
- the transport of equipment likely to be used for an undeclared festive and musical gathering (“sound system”, generators with a power greater than 10 KVA and a weight greater than 100 kg) on all national and secondary road networks of the department.
Any offense is punishable by the sanctions provided for in article R.211-27 of the Internal Security Code and may result in the seizure of the material for a maximum period of 6 months, with a view to its confiscation by the court.
The prefect of Ille-et-Vilaine wishes everyone a happy end-of-year celebration but asks everyone to show responsibility by respecting these measures taken so that these convivial moments take place in complete safety.
