The year 2024 will have been marked by unprecedented economic dynamics for the Marrakech-Safi region. With an 8% increase in tourist arrivals and an 11% increase in overnight stays compared to the previous year, tourism confirms its driving role. Marrakech, Essaouira and Al-Haouz are attracting more and more visitors, benefiting in particular from an increasing average length of stay (+3%).
Historic investments
The region approved 635 new projects, representing a total of 93.4 billion dirhams of investments and the creation of 21,266 jobs. These figures illustrate effective implementation of the national strategy for the development of private investment, reinforced by effective institutional support.
An effervescent cultural scene
The 2024 cultural calendar has consolidated the international notoriety of Marrakech. As the capital of Islamic culture, the ocher city hosted a series of events celebrating its unique heritage. The National Festival of Popular Arts, the Marrakech International Film Festival, as well as major artistic events have attracted thousands of visitors, contributing to the influence of the region.
