King Mohammed VI arrived in the United Arab Emirates for a visit described as “private”Barlamane.com learned Thursday, December 26. This trip, carried out in a strictly personal context, takes place in a context marked by the deepening of the strategic rapprochement between Rabat and Abu Dhabi.

According to our sources, the Sherifian sovereign should take advantage of this visit to meet Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, in an informal setting. These exchanges could focus on topics of common interest, including bilateral investments, energy partnerships and recent geopolitical developments in the region.

Morocco and the United Arab Emirates maintain essential relations, nourished by close economic and political cooperation. The Emirates are among the kingdom's main economic partners, with major investments in the real estate, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.

Diplomatically, Rabat and Abu Dhabi share convergent positions on several international issues, including support for regional stability and the fight against transnational security threats. This visit could also be an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss future projects that will unite the two countries.

This private visit comes at a time when the Gulf region is marked by multiple major issues. Morocco, although officially neutral in several crises in the Middle East, relies on its historic role as mediator to strengthen its alliances with key players in this area.

Furthermore, the royal trip could also help lay the foundations for new large-scale economic projects, particularly in the field of green technologies and logistics, sectors at the heart of cooperation between Morocco and the Emirates.
