Between Langeais and Bourgueil, the Château de Rochecotte is one of the most prestigious hotels in Indre-et-Loire, in the tradition of Artigny (Montbazon), the Château Louise de la Vallière (Reugny) or the Château de Pray (at Charge). Opened in 1986, it has 37 rooms or suites and has an average occupancy rate of 80%. Mostly foreigners, and quite a few groups. But in recent years the establishment has sought to open up to local customers under the leadership of its director Carla Brosset.

At 27, she has been in post since 2022 and this year renewed the establishment's event for Heritage Days. Two years ago its first edition welcomed 1,000 people. Carla Brosset hopes to do just as well this Sunday September 22 with a market bringing together around twenty gourmet or artisanal stands but also an artistic exhibition and guided tours to understand the history of the place which was a feudal fort during the Hundred Years' War or which made it possible to hide the Treaty of Versailles at the end of the First World War.

Apart from a contemporary glass roof housing one of the two restaurant rooms, and bathrooms with a fairly modern style, the Château de Rochecotte maintains its 19th century appearance. There are moldings, Italian solid wood furniture, a very beautiful collection of Langeais porcelain… A regularly renovated interior. Several rooms or suites are renovated each year, but without losing their historic appearance.

This setting, which already appeals to the Touraine public for weddings or corporate events, is also attractive for moments of relaxation. During the summer, around ten people booked the formula with swimming pool + tea time at €59 each day, “and we even had to slow down requests so that the pool was not overloaded” tells us Carla Brosset. This winter another more expensive option with massage will take over. The idea is to offer a break without necessarily sleeping there. A way to maximize the possibilities of the site.

Also during winter, the program promises to be rich with the launch of evenings around Savoyard fondue (with or without truffle, and accompanied by charcuterie). Introductory price: €50. For the 2^e Once, Rochecotte will also bring 2 drag queens on March 29, for a visual and musical show. On March 8, he will also offer a murder party, an investigation game with dinner directly in the establishment's rooms (140€). Tea time is always offered for €20.

These events could increase in number, with plans also to upgrade the catering offer and, why not, the opening of a spa – common in this type of establishment. Projects to follow between now and 2026, the year which will mark 40 years since the opening of the hotel. Its director is already hoping to make an impression on this occasion.
