The magic of Noël has started several days ago and the year 2024 is about to end. Before celebrating the New Year, Bordeaux news offers you an overview of the activities to do during the holidays.

The Little Prince in the spotlight

Since October 18, 2024, the Little Prince has taken over the walls and floor of the Bassins des Lumières in Bordeaux. The immersive exhibition on the work of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is projected until January 29, 2025.

This is also the case for representation on Dutch painters which traces the works of Vincent Van Gogh, Johannes Vermeer and Rembrandt.

The history of dinosaurs

At Cap Sciences, these are the dinosaurs which have been in the spotlight since June. An exhibition going back in time to (re)discover the Jurassic period can be found at Hangar 20 on the quai de Bacalan.

And if dinosaurs aren't your cup of tea, a new exhibit on glaciers started on December 14. A representation to explain their creation and their evolution to discuss the issues of climate transition.

The last days of the Christmas market

The Christmas market plays overtime on the Place des Quinconces. In place since November 29, it will close its doors on Sunday December 29. So there are a few days left families to get there and discover the culinary specialties on offer as well as the numerous exhibitors.

In addition to the Christmas market, Bordeaux residents can take a trip to the ice skating rink installed at the Allées de Tourny. Made of synthetic material, it requires neither water nor electricity.

Those interested can put on the skates until January 12, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and until 11 p.m. on weekends.

The screening at the Grand-Théâtre

Every evening, hundreds of people gather to watch the video show on the facade of the Grand Theater. It is produced by the Bordeaux company Limelight.

This lighting of this city center monument is visible until Sunday, January 5 from 5:30 p.m. to midnight.

Boxers on ice
