For the seventh year, the City of Brest and the metropolis are holding a competition on the theme of Europe, the day of which is set for May 9, the anniversary of the “Schuman declaration”. The objectives? “Strengthen the feeling of belonging to Europe, raise awareness among the general public of European issues, make visible Europe's action in the territories and encourage openness to interculturality, particularly among the youngest”.
In the candidates' specifications, three imperatives: the proposed activities must take place during the spring of 2025, be supported by an association and/or an educational establishment or other non-profit structure and, of course, take place in the territory of Brest Métropole.
Concerning the selection criteria, the emphasis is placed on partnership and/or pooling and consultation between structures or the innovative and fun nature of the activities. Last year, eight projects were selected, including that of CM2 students from the Jean-de-La Fontaine school who were to go to Spain to meet their correspondents from Murcia,

The overall envelope for the call for projects is €12,000, distributed as follows: €8,000 for actions taking place in Brest and €4,000 for actions taking place in the metropolis. The maximum grant will be €3,000 per project and per structure. To participate, it is necessary to download the application file from the website www.brest.fr. They will be due by February 7, 2025 at the latest. A jury will then meet in the second half of February.
