Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development Mary Ng says Ms.me Nankivell will help the agency “continue its essential work helping Canadian businesses reduce their financial risks and succeed in new markets.”

She praises the experience of Mme Nankivell in international trade finance, capital markets, risk management and international business development.

The chair of the EDC board of directors, Vivian Abdelmessih, emphasizes that the appointment of Mme Nankivell comes at a time when the organization is navigating “the current complexities of international trade,” adding that the board is confident she will help the agency continue to support the international expansion and success of Canadian businesses.

Mme Nankivell, who previously served as CEO of MaRS Discovery District, has more than 25 years of experience in international investments and strategic planning.

Mme Abdelmessih says Mairead's “vision and commitment have significantly expanded EDC's impact and relevance to Canadian businesses” and that the outgoing president and CEO has set a high bar for organization.
