Man killed with a saber in Essonne: the suspect indicted and placed in pre-trial detention

A man suspected of murder and attempted murder with a sword, in (Essonne), after a dispute over a house he was squatting, was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on Sunday December 22 2024 in the evening, indicated to theAgence -Presse (AFP) the Évry-Courcouronnes public prosecutor's office.

The events took place on the night of Friday December 20 to Saturday December 21, when three men forced their way into a pavilion, occupied by this man in his forties.

The three men are employees of a business manager, recent purchaser of the house, who went to the house on Friday afternoon to ask the son of the former owners to leave the illegally occupied premises. In vain.

A nocturnal expedition

In the evening, after a drunken company meal organized by this business manager in his offices, these three employees, in a state of drunkenness, decided to exfiltrate the squatter military hand. They drove to the scene, broke down the front door and broke down the door to the occupant's bedroom before hitting him while he was sleeping, injuring his face.

The latter then grabbed a standard saber and struck two of his attackers in the abdomen. The first died on the spot, the second, seriously injured, managed to escape with difficulty, while the third, unharmed, escaped and called the police.

Indicted for aggravated violence for having participated in the nocturnal expedition against the alleged perpetrator of the saber blows, he was indicted but released under judicial supervision.

Vital prognosis for one of the victims

When they arrived on the scene, agents from the Anti-Crime Brigade noted the death of one of the attackers. The other seriously injured was hospitalized at Kremlin-Bicêtre (Val-de-), where his vital prognosis was still in jeopardy on Sunday evening, the prosecution said.

The third attacker, the one who was spared by the saber blows, and the occupant of the accommodation, were placed in police custody, as was the business manager. The latter's custody was lifted without any charges being brought against him, the public prosecutor said.

The autopsy carried out on the deceased victim revealed a deep wound caused by a weapon compatible with the saber found in the home, added the same source.
