For the 16th day, synonymous with the last match of the year 2024, the results in the different rinks were very different. If all the clubs managed to obtain three points more or less recently, this is not the case for Neuilly-sur-Marne, Brest and Mont-Blanc. Clubs can hope to start the new year with new victories!
Let's start the description of the evening on Saturday evening by going to Nantes, the Comètes de Meudon had no difficulty in winning (2-7) against the Corsairs who would have liked to have a second consecutive victory. Matthéo Mahieu opened the scoring for Meudon, followed by a Pontus Eklof goal (superiority). Benoit Valier reduced the gap midway through the third. In the second period, Nikita Shatsky hit the nail on the head, just before Benoit Valier scored his double. After this last Nantes goal, Pontus Eklöf also scored two new goals, in quick succession. In the last period, Eliott Lorraine and Kévin Lorcher also registered their names on the list of scorers.
Let's take the road to the Vosges, where the Wildcats of Épinal hosted the Bisons of Neuilly-sur-Marne. It was the visitors who scored the first goal, through Romans Nekludovs. Florian Sabatier quickly responded, enough to reset the counters. In the middle third, Aleksandr Yakimenko deceived Antoine Bonvalot, enough to revive any hope of victory for the Bisons. And in the third third, the Spinaliens offered their supporters a festival of goals! Four goals were scored in the space of six minutes, by Hugo Sarlin, Tomas Nechala, Peter Hrehorcak and Jakub Adamek. Just after the last Spinalian goal and after a timeout, the Bisons managed to close the game with a goal, scored by Romans Nekludovs.
In the North in Valenciennes, the Red Devils won against Villard-de-Lans (3-2). Levi Glasman had time to score a double before Villard-de-Lans reduced the gap in the second period, through Philippe Caron. Nicholas Domitrovich scored in the final third, enough to tie the score. A time which did not last, since Risto Saarinen deceived Matthieu Gaillard a few minutes later. A goal difference, which was enough for Julien Guimard's men to win all three points!
Let's return to the East of France, to Strasbourg, where the Étoile Noire hosted the HCMP Ibex. The group was scared, but the Alsatians won (5-4). Thibaud Masson (x2) and Nicolas Lopes were able to deceive Tomas Yadlovsky. Lucas Hermann and Bruno Baldris allowed Strasbourg to reduce the gap. In the third third, Yssah Mensah scored the last goal for the Ibex. After this goal conceded, the Black Star had time to score three more, by Lucas Hermann, Daniel Takkunen and Zackary Bross.
The Yetis of Mont-Blanc received their neighbors, the Elephants of Chambéry, on Saturday evening. The Chambérians won (4-5, ap). And it was they who opened the scoring with Justus Mikkonen. In numerical superiority, Eric Léger reset the counters to zero. Nathan Feirreira and Konstantin Chernyuk fooled Brendahn Brawley. Adam Nobes took advantage of a power play to score the fifth goal of the evening. This was followed by a goal from HC Mont-Blanc, by Ilya Altybarmakyan. With two additional goals from Valentin Grossetete and Nicholas Cherkowski, Chambéry sent everyone into overtime. And it was Alexandre Rouillard's men who won, with a goal from Valentin Grossetete. Even though they lost again, the Yetis de Mont-Blanc still got a point.
Let's return to the North, this time to Dunkirk, where the Corsairs received the Penguins of Morzine-Avoriaz. Jonathan Lafrance's men had no trouble winning (8-3). The match started strong for the Dunkirk: after a minute of play, Jeremiah Luedtke scored the first goal of the evening, followed by two goals scored by Zackary Daneau and Vit Budinsky. In the middle third, Valentin Motreff scored the first goal for Morzine-Avoriaz. But that didn't stop the Dunkirks, who scored three more goals, through Timon Davranche, Zackary Daneau and Thomas Clément. In the final period, Blake Luscombe scored the Penguins' second goal. Clément Thomas then scored his double, followed by a goal from Joan Cerda. Finally, Timon Davranche scored the eleventh and final goal of the match.
Let's now go to Brittany, where the Albatross of Brest hosted the Remparts of Tours. The Tourangeaux had no trouble winning (1-5). Fabien Mais opened the scoring in the first third. In the second period, Dimitri Motreff equalized, but it only lasted for a moment, as Tours regained control of the score, with a goal from Kyle Gibbons. In the last act, Vince Tartari, Steven Fournier and Fabien Mallais all deceived Valentin Duquenne.
In Cholet, the Dogs scared themselves, but won in overtime (1-0) at the Drakakars de Caen. With 50 shots for Cholet compared to 29 for Caen, it was Raphaël Bastille who found the fault against Ronan Quemener to allow Cholet to secure the victory, and take the two points.
We'll see you next year, for the description of the 17th day of the championship, which will take place on January 4!
