Snow at Christmas?

For those who love snow, it's a miss, unless you have the opportunity to go for a walk in areas above 550 to 600 meters above sea level, where the snow will last for a few more days. Elsewhere, it will be quite mild. “On Tuesday, a weak warm front will pass through our country and will push us back into a fairly mild air mass under anticyclonic dominance at least until December 29. The improvements should also tend to widen, particularly in the south of the country and the Ardennes heights. The nights will be cool and a small film of low quality snow should remain above 600-6500 m through New Year's Eve, Christmas Day and even a little beyond. These will be the only regions that will see snow over Christmas“, indicates Michael Bleret on his info-weather site.

On Christmas Day, the sky will remain gray with many low clouds and even a little drizzle or drizzle at times. The maxima will range between 5 degrees in Hautes Fagnes and 10 or locally 11 degrees in the west. The wind will be weak, to sometimes moderate at the seaside, from the southwest or without precise direction“, indicates the MRI.

Furthermore, the IRM announces in its 14-day forecast that temperatures should oscillate between 6 and 7 degrees during the holidays, across the country. “In the Ardennes, there will be a risk of slight night frosts.

The good news is that although rain is still forecast this Monday, the situation should be calmer for the rest of the week, and even quite sunny at the weekend. Next week, however, we expect more variable days, between clearings, clouds and a slight risk of rain. In general, it will be milder at the coast than in the rest of the country.
