After the heavy defeat two days earlier against Briançon (6-1), the trip to the capital of the Alps promised to be perilous for Hormadi. The first minutes confirmed this premonition. However, having entered the game better, the Angloys conceded the first goal, signed by Sacha Treille.
Destabilized by this upset start to the match, Arnaud Faure was asked to return to prison for two minutes. A numerical inferiority that the Bruleurs de Loups punished immediately by Matias Bachelet. But while the Grenoblois obtained the hottest situations, the Basques managed to deceive the vigilance of Jakup Stepanek with Craig Puffer, confirming his status as Hormadi's top scorer. Despite the domination of the Alps, Hormadi saw themselves within reach after the first twenty minutes of the game.
Wrong rhythm
The second third shifted to a false rhythm and gave an insipid flavor to the encounter. Despite everything, the Basques attacked with more bite. The former Grenoble player, Julien Munoz, sent shivers through the audience at the rink by forcing the opposing goalkeeper to intervene. After a time out requested by Per Hanberg, the Grenoblois returned to the ice with much more intention and character as evidenced by the skirmish between Connor Blake and Jarod Hilderman. While the Isérois pushed, Dylan St Cyr officiated perfectly to maintain his clean sheet during the second third.
Faced with Grenoblois appearing physically worn out, the Angloys felt that the tide could turn around. Timothé Quattrone and Samuel Dunn even thought of equalizing but Jakub Stepanek pulled out all the stops to deflect their attempts. On the other hand, the Czech goalkeeper was unable to do anything against Vincent Deslauriers, who crucified him at point blank range. The Basques found themselves in overtime but the Grenoble ogre finally made the Hormadi defense give in to Adel Koudri. This Alpine weekend ends on a better note and allows us to approach with enthusiasm the reception of Gap, direct opponent, Saturday December 28.
