Almost a year ago, the mechanical department of the Saint-Vaury vocational high school received a Ford Vedette from the 1950s as a Christmas gift.
A year later, another gift arrived: the Ford Vedette won the Motul-Fondation du patrimoine prize. The rehabilitation project carried out by the Louis-Gaston Roussillat high school in Saint-Vaury will benefit from a grant of €10,000.
The adventure therefore continues for this Vedette, given to the high school by a collector who wanted this vehicle to remain in Creuse. The Ford Vedette was, among other things, a taxi in Creuse, then a tow truck for almost 20 years. She is now one of the most in a group that should give her back her youth. The donation will also allow young people to learn how to work on a rolling heritage that has become exceptional.
Another old lady is being restored, this time in Limoges. It is not a car, but a steam locomotive, the 231 K 82. It is in the hands of enthusiasts from the Conservatoire Ferroviaire Territoire Limousin Périgord (CFTLP).
Built in 1920, it made its last journey at the head of La Flèche d'Or, which linked Paris and London, on January 11, 1969. The collection for it brought together nearly €82,000. Those who wish to make a donation still have ten days to do so.
