The teenager, of Romanian nationality, had taken refuge “in tears” in a clinic in Grenoble, on the night of December 16 to 17, said prosecutor Eric Vaillant, confirming information from the Dauphiné Libéré. She told the establishment staff that she had escaped through the window of her uncle and aunt's apartment in Grenoble.
She stated that she had been held there for three days and raped several times by her cousin, while the latter's parents were present in the apartment. According to her, her own parents wanted her to marry her cousin. The latter, accompanied by two of his brothers, came to kidnap her from the young girl's family home, in a camp in Cergy, in the Paris region. She was then taken to the Grenoble apartment of the cousin's parents, according to the prosecutor's account.
