Revenu Québec announced that it will demonstrate flexibility and support citizens and businesses who have been affected by the interruption of Canada Post services in fulfilling their tax obligations.
The objective is to prevent them from being unduly penalized by the situation.
Indeed, some people may find themselves unable to meet their tax obligations within the usual deadlines. They will be able, if necessary, to contact Revenu Québec customer services to find out the best procedure to follow for their file.
Revenu Québec will carry out a case-by-case analysis and will follow up on each file, according to its particularities.
Checks relating to socio-fiscal programs
The state corporation also specifies that three types of checks relating to socio-fiscal programs will be sent by Canada Post. These are the housing allowance from January 1, 2025, the alimony from January 1, 2025 and the solidarity tax credit from January 3, 2025.
The people concerned will therefore receive them directly at home in the coming days.
Checks relating to socio-fiscal programs issued since the start of the postal conflict can be collected at a Services Québec office until January 3, 2025 inclusive. Checks that have not been collected after this date will be mailed during the month of January 2025.
Remember that all people registered for direct deposit received the amounts owed to them within the usual deadlines. (N.P.)
