Guest on the show Top Foot on TV7 BordeauxBruno Irles, Bordeaux coach, spoke about the aspects of his work off the field.
« What aspects of my job do I find most difficult off the field? The professional coach already has this media aspect that I also learned to understand by going on the sets of Canal Plus during periods when I was not working. It taught me my relationship with the media and also the interest of this relationship with the media which is preponderant today for a professional coach. There's all the preparation, but I like that. The preparation when we play Rennes fascinates me. It fascinates me to analyze how they play, how mine played at La Roche, the weaknesses we had, the strengths we had, what could hurt Rennes, what will hurt us Rennes, how to work on it afterwards on the ground… All of that fascinates me. Then, what I also like is the relationship with the locker room. Dado may be better than me at this but I like it too. We're going to go with the players tomorrow (Thursday), we're going to get back on the pitch, that's what I like too. I like this job. There is of course pressure. We have pressure, we have to win. We have a team that is not particularly ready, we have just put it together and we must win. I was in Ligue 1 at Troyes, it didn't necessarily go well because the supporters liked the previous coach. So I had a complicated reception. However, I had to win matches and seek support. So this pressure is not necessarily obvious, more for the family. I'm fine, I'm used to it. At some point I get insulted, I know there are times that are less good and that we are questioned, but I'm used to it. I know the high level. But it's more the management of the family that is complicated. »
