On the evening of Friday December 20, 2024, in the large room of the social center in the southern districts of Le Mans (Sarthe), it was dimmed lights, superbly decorated tables and non-alcoholic aperitifs to toast a very festive New Year's Eve. Before the meal, twenty-nine children attended a show
says Léa Moreau, family facilitator who worked in committee beforehand with volunteers to ensure that everything was very well organized.
Then 144 people sat down for a festive menu, concocted in the kitchens of the social center by Thomas and Adeline Lienard, who run the restaurant L'Authentic, avenue du Docteur Jean-Marc in Le Mans. With starters, a vegetarian dish or a meat or fish dish. We had to maximize prices and made efforts to offer a quality meal.
The restaurateurs had closed their establishment for the occasion and showed a real eagerness to ensure that everything was perfect. In addition to the grant of €2,000, offered by the Fondation de France, participants paid the sum of €4 per adult and €2 per child for meals billed at €12.50 per adult and €6 per child.
Very involved volunteers
There is no denying that on Friday, happiness reigned at the social center. The children wore makeup while the residents wore beautiful clothes and original hats. It's really great to come here with the kids
warmly thanked Rachida. We don't feel alone.
Sylvie, Christiane, Patricia, Julienne, Annabelle and Nadège, five volunteers from the social center Animation association, chaired by Sylvie Renou, kept an eye on things to ensure that everything went well. Beforehand, they had participated, with residents, in the organization of the evening with napkin folding workshops, table and room decorations.
And the icing on the cake, on Friday evening, they dipped into their savings and took €800 to offer 150 bags of chocolates. And the evening continued with a cabaret evening! A very nice New Year's Eve which is one of the 200 financially supported by the Fondation de France.
