FCP Selles : 3
Saint-Georges: 3
We've been playing since 52e minute. Charbonnier had just brought the score to 3-0 in favor of FCP Selles who were heading towards their eighth victory in as many matches.
The match seemed decided and, undoubtedly also, a bit of the division 1 championship. But then, Saint-Georges, who had not been unworthy until then, was going to overturn everything in less than ten minutes. “It’s a difficult scenario, especially since we missed a penalty at 3-3”regretted Jean-Michel Rignault, the coach of the FCP Selles.
For an hour, everything smiled at Selles
It's true that for an hour everything seemed to be smiling on the leader. A first goal scored in the first minutes by Samuel Da Silva on a pass from Charbonnier put the FCP on the right track. “This goal upset our initial plans”analyzed Sébastien Benoist.
Charcoal maker (14e), then Rignault (23e) could have worsened the score, before Saint-Georges gave a response which could suggest an open second period.
The superb goals of Rignault (2-0, 48e) then Charbonnier (3-0, 52e), two powerful shots over which Legros could do nothing, putting an end to all suspense.
At least that was what all observers could logically think. But the Sellois were already showing some signs of fatigue after a great burst of energy.
Stools declined physically
Ribeiro's subtle deviation, which got the better of Da Costa just on the hour mark, restarted the match (3-1, 61ste). Sébastien Benoist's men won all the duels and the FCP was no longer able to keep the ball.
A cross from Jonas Aimont found Guignard for 3-2 four minutes later. This time the dynamic was clearly on the visitors' side and Berthault's equalizer, on a cross from Guignard, surprised no one (3-3, 68e).
As it was written that the scenario would be stunning, while we awaited the fourth goal from Saint-Georges, it was FCP Selles who would have the victory at the tip of Charbonnier's feet.
Legros' foul on Da Silva deserved the penalty, but Charbonnier shot it wide (74e). The score remained there, which encouraged the two coaches to be positive: “Seven wins and a draw, there are worse scenarios, so I am satisfied with this first part of the season”said Jean-Michel Rignault.
His counterpart railed about the choice of December 21: “I am very satisfied with this draw, especially since we still have two games in hand. But frankly, this evening many players had already gone on vacation and we have to resume on January 5. The district is closed from December 20 to January 6, so that's proof that everyone needs a vacation, right? »
Half time: 1-0.
