The Tourangeaux suffered the first attacks of the game, but well organized in front of Sébastien Raibon, they held on, even erasing a power-play. Ten minutes passed before the first banderillas of the Remparts. They initially lacked success: Gibbons found the post, then a missile from Steven Fournier crashed into the Brest crossbar. But on this action, captain Fabien Mallais, in ambush, volleyed the puck and opened the scoring (0-1, 15'49).
A second third suffered… until Gibbons’ goal
The Finisterians set off again with a bang after the first cut. Carried forward, they quickly equalized in this second act: Dimitri Motreff, starting in depth, challenged and beat Raibon to equalize (1-1, 24'52). The Remparts suffered clearly during this period, but the clumsiness in the Breton attacks maintained the score of parity.
And one minute before the buzzer of this second period, Tours managed to regain the lead: a puck lost by Favarin allowed Jean to royally serve Kyle Gibbons, who pushed the puck to the far post (1-2, 39'00).
Double for Captain Mais
The Remparts even made the break in the first minutes of the final period, through Vince Tartari (1-3, 42'50). Enough to manage the end of the game more easily. The Brestois, condemned to take risks, were also punished with a fourth goal scored by Steven Fournier, in the confusion in front of the Duquenne cage (1-4, 49'16). The final minutes established Touraine's domination, with Mais scoring the Remparts' fifth goal on a power play, his second of the match (1-5, 57'01).
The Remparts have also strengthened their 2e place, with the setback from Caen to Cholet in overtime (1-0). They will therefore be able to leave with a smile. The resumption of training is set for December 28, and that of competition on January 4 in Caen. But whatever happens, the return phase is well underway, Frank Spinozzi and his men will be able to enjoy the holidays.

Frank Spinozzi (Tours coach): “We knew how to keep our backs round. Brest is a valiant but emotionally fragile team. The turning point of the match was our second goal. Once past it, it was easier. We played our game in the third period, always being very rigorous defensively. This victory concludes our year very well. »
