The Metropolis of Mans intends to inject nearly 200 million euros in his projects for next year.
Meeting in community council, Thursday December 19, 2024, the elected officials voted on primitive budget 2025.
Here are some of the main investments.
A boost in transport
The most expensive but also the most visible currently is the construction site of Chronolignes : 71 million euros will be spent this year by the Metropolis.
The operation began in particular on avenue Bollée, where the trees were felled in November.
Another ongoing transport-related project: the extension of platforms and tram trains for 26 million euros.
Hydrogen buses
To this must be added 7.5 million euros, part of which is for the renewal of vehicles of the Setram. From 2025, hydrogen buses (1 million euros each) will run on the first portions of Chronolignes.
With the arrival of the Chronolignes, the deposit bus (Avenue Pierre Piffault) serving as a maintenance center will be completely redesigned. The studies will be followed by land acquisitions (3.4 million euros).
Furthermore, a parking silo will be erected, Route de Degré, near the hospital center, to meet parking needs in this area. It will have a capacity of 632 places.
Improve water treatment
To the wastewater treatment plant of the Chauvinière4.8 million euros of work out of a total of 18 million appear in the 2025 budget. They aim to improve water treatment.
Still in this sector, a multi-energy station, responsible for distributing fuel, must be located at the technical center.
Palais des Congrès: unions and associations are moving
The extension of Convention center will enter its first phase (3.4 million euros in the BP) with the finalization of the studies and the designation of the companies.
Located within this area, the Maison des associations will be relocated (3.6 million euros as well as the Maison des syndicats (5 million euros).
Another project visible to the general public: that of rue du Docteur Leroy (2.1 million euros).
After a first structure opened in 2024, new multidisciplinary health homes will see the light of day, including that of Coulaines (2.8 million euros).
Centre commercial, barrage, formation…
Started in June 2024, the work should end in the fall of 2025 at the Epau dam (nearly one million out of a total of €4.3 million).
The Metropolis will also contribute to the reconstruction of the Sablons shopping center (1.7 million euros), but also the Center of Excellence for health, sanitary and social training (1.1 million euros), the first stone of which was been asked recently.
