Two weeks to organize the reception of a historic football match

It’s a unique moment that the people of Marmandais will experience. And Bertrand Tunica, co-president of FC Marmande, knows what he is talking about having been player for almost 20 years at the club. He also participated in the 8th round of the Coupe de France in 2002 against Toulouse Football Clubat the time in Ligue 2. Until this season, it was the club's best run in the cup of all possible.

For him and Lyazid Bahlali, this event is an adventure that is both exhilarating and demanding. “This is unheard of for this club,” confide the two managers. “It’s a huge joy for our supporters, volunteers and young players. »

We are volunteers, we give our time and energy because we love this club. It's trying but if we had to do it again to experience such moments, we would do it 100 times!

It must be said that the club learned of its draft in the Coupe de France only two weeks ago, after the disqualification of FC Vierzona Nationale 3 club against which the FC Marmande players lost on the wire (2-2, tab 3-5).

Despite the heavy specifications imposed by the FFF in a very short time, they assure: “We are experiencing a unique and fabulous moment. No matter the outcome, this memory will remain with us and it is likely that we will only experience it once in our life as a volunteer leader a match of this magnitude. » Before concluding: “We don’t want to dream too much but we tell ourselves that everything is possible. »
