This year, the Ateliers des Capucins team in Brest invites the public to immerse themselves in the magic of Christmas through the seabed. An original visual, sound and immersive experience designed with the Rennes collective Les Œils, in partnership with the company Audiolite.
An immersive experience
The holiday season is a very important time for the Ateliers des Capucins
specifies Yann Guevel, president of the local public company (SPL) which manages the place. This year, no Santa Claus or trees! Make way for giant deck chairs, suspended fish and colorful algae.
This Saturday, December 21, 2024, young and old will be able to discover the Place des Machines bathed in “glaz” color, for a grandiose visual spectacle as soon as night falls. We designed this device as an immersive and participatory scenographic experience
explains Julie Méreau, a jack-of-all-trades designer within the Rennes collective Les Œils. Saturday morning, from 10 a.m., we invite the people of Brest to continue creating the decor with us
she specifies.
Fifteen days of workshops, concerts, games, rides and other surprises
If surprises are still in preparation, the program is well put together! From December 21, 2024 to January 5, 2025, the Ateliers des Capucins and all of its “roommates” invite the public to festive times around the magic of Christmas.
We are happy to have been able to involve all of the Capuchins stakeholders in the organization of this event.
underlines Nolwenn Rocher, events manager. While the ocean museum, 70.8, will take visitors on an acoustic underwater dive, at Place des Machines, the media library will offer a workshop for designing marine animal masks in augmented reality, accessible from 8 years.
To keep with the immersive theme, the Climb Up climbing gym will offer a unique experience of climbing in the dark with the only lighting being the lights of the stage system at Place des Machines.
An event faithful to the spirit of the Capuchins
To take full advantage of these Christmas Workshops, entry to the Capuchins remains free and open to all. Families, children, tourists, the curious will be able to wander freely and participate in the entire program offered over these two weeks? in a warm atmosphere.
