Angers employment clubs offer an intensive and collaborative five-week program, intended to help job seekers find a position quickly. They mainly focus on the hidden job market: opportunities that are not published via traditional channels.
This system is aimed at job seekers in Angers Loire metropolis with a defined professional project or in the process of being developed. Approximately 70% of participants find a job after completing this program.
A session was organized at the Relais culturelle de Saint-Sylvain-d'Anjou, delegated municipality of Verrières-en-Anjou (Maine-et-Loire).
“In groups of around ten, researchers are supported for five weeks free of charge, explains Véronique Paillard, director of employment at Aldev (Agency for the economic development of the Angers region) organizer of the Angers employment clubs. The session takes place intensively, four days a week and six hours a day. We equip and help participants to strengthen their prospecting towards this hidden market, to know and develop their network of knowledge in order to obtain a maximum of interviews. »
“Action learning and group dynamics”
The participants, 11 in Saint-Sylvain-d'Anjou, work in groups, share resources and support each other
« Everyone agrees to participate in the entire action by signing a contract, underlines Régine Richard, director of the Ascape 49 association (1). Our approach is based on action learning and group dynamics. We offer a positive method with fun and professional scenarios. The participants are actors and responsible throughout the Angers employment club. »
So, this Sylvanese session? “This club was an opportunity to regain confidence and re-mobilize, respond the participants. These five weeks allowed us to get to know each other and create a group dynamic. Prospecting in the field allowed us to overcome our fears and identify employment prospects with 184 companies in Angers and its surrounding area. »
