After a first participation in the French individual majorette championships on November 9 and 10, 2024 in Rocbaron in the Var, the Les Etoiles de Sénas-Orgon association decided to double down by registering this time for the French team championships. in Houdan, in Yvelines, on Sunday February 2, 2025.
To make this dream possible, in order to finance the trip to Île-de-France, the association has just put a leetchi participatory prize pool online (leetchi.com/fr/c/championnat-de-france-majorette-par-equipe).
Sébastien Lemaitre, the dad of Charline, one of the four girls selected for the two French championships with Giuliana, Alicia and Serena, talks about a little help “to reduce participants’ costs, to promote the South, Sénas and the stars in the Paris region, so that they can relive this magical momente”. To date, 290 euros have been collected out of the 3,200 targeted.
This is a championship created since 2021 by the AFMF, Amicale des fanfares et majorettes de France, intended for girls, from 3 years old, through several distinct categories. Each team presents itself according to its level of batting, its effective age on the day of the championship.
The terms of the competition
Teams are made up of 5 to 8 participants except the accessory category. In fact, it is open to a maximum of 10 participants. For information, the dance performed must include at least 20 stick movements. Let us point out that the choreography is as important as the execution of the movements. Among the constraints in particular, it should be noted that the choreography must use the entire free space of the floor and work all the series of stick sheets, that is to say finger, roll, flip, throw. At least one exchange of sticks is mandatory in all categories. All participants must perform the same choreography simultaneously when the team passes.
