This Friday, a glazier from the company L’Art du Verre was asked to work on the window of the Devred boutique, located at 35 Faubourg de France in Belfort. It had been damaged in what appears to be a burglary that occurred earlier in the morning. Around 4:30 a.m., a witness saw a dark figure carefully unscrewing the window located to the left of the store. She was literally “disjointed”.
Loud noise
During this operation, the suspect allegedly dropped the window, which was heavier than he had expected. It then collapsed to the ground, breaking with a loud crash. This dull noise, likened to an explosion, was reported by a witness.

On the run with a model
The individual was then seen fleeing, taking a dressed mannequin, his only loot. According to initial reports, he was wearing jogging bottoms, sneakers and a sleeveless down jacket. Strangely, he would not have noticed a second, better dressed model who was nearby. The small door located between the window and the store had been opened, but no intrusion into the interior of the business seems to have taken place. The piles of clothes had remained intact.
Investigation
The stranger took a passage leading in front of a kebab shop to reach a parking lot overlooking Plumeré and Trois Dugois streets. Alerted by the police around 6 a.m., the assistant manager and a saleswoman from the store went to the site and monitored the store. A technician from the technical and scientific police intervened before dawn to take readings and photos. Bad joke from a drunk person or targeted burglary? For now, the police have limited themselves to a terse statement: “investigation underway”. Complaint has been filed.
