After a first conclusive experience (1), Françoise Servaire Lorenzet, head teacher of the first CAP multi-purpose commerce team class (CAP EPC) at the Sonia-Delaunay high school, renewed the mentoring operation, but this time over the two years training of young people. And always with the help of Proxité (2), an association committed to the success of young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods, based in Orléans.
Seven meetings during the school year
Thirteen fixed pairs make up this new session, twelve of them participated on Monday December 16 in an initial welcome, around a snack offered by the mentors. They have very diverse profiles: communications agent, SNCF employee, professional coach, gîte rental, retiree, ex-retailer, etc. Their common point is their desire to provide high school students with additional support for the educational part: “It’s about helping him in a path not necessarily chosen, said Julie, entrepreneur advisor and trainer and mentor of Mahawa, to build oneself, beyond know-how, as a person in the world. »
Franck, retired from communications, knows that above all he will listen to what Nolhan has to say: “Our monthly meetings will help to reestablish his motivations. » Soriba, who wants to become a bakery salesman, is confident: “I know Anthony will push me towards my future. »
Becoming a mentor involves seven meetings with young people each school year. “This mentoring format is unique in France, particularly among young people from CAP », underlined Françoise Servaire Lorenzet.
(1) The eleven young people from the first session all obtained their CAP. Four of them are in the professional baccalaureate this year.
(2) Applications for mentoring must be submitted to the Proxité association, www.proxite.com
