A year after the release of his book: “The Doris and its environment in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon”, Marc Derible will be signing on December 21 at the Lecturama bookstore in Saint-Pierre. The opportunity for him to look back on his latest work and the welcome he received in the archipelago.

A second signing session is an opportunity for Marc Dérible to see his latest work “The dory and its environment in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon” be offered for future upcoming end-of-year celebrations.

This book, dedicated as its name indicates to dories, reflects its author’s passion for his subject. “A book as strong as dories”he laughs. “A book of 320 pages, a large book with 400 color photos”. For Marc Dérible, dedicating a book to these emblematic boats goes without saying. Passionate about local heritage, he explains that the boat “is the symbol of the archipelago”.

Even if he admits it, Marc Dérible would have thought he could sell his book in greater numbers, he nevertheless remains happy with the feedback. “The feedback has been very positive for those who have read it. I even had a message from a Saint-Pierrais who is based in Vienna, Austria. The book has traveled. For him, it is important to continue talking about the passing of time in order to preserve the memories.
