A year after experiencing a huge disappointment in the Coupe de France, falling to Dunkirk, a D1 team and future finalist of the event, in the quarter-finals, the Dukes of Angers regained their rank in the 2025 edition.
Tuesday, December 17, Jonathan Paredes’ players largely won at IceParc, in the quarter-finals against Nice (6-1).
This Thursday the 19th, the draw for the semi-finals put Rouen on the road to Angevins. The draw was reversed – Angers came out first – since the point of regulation stipulates that this is the case when the team drawn No. 1 has already played at home in the previous round (against Nice, therefore) while its opponent played away: the Dragons won at Morzine-Avoriaz (6-1)
This season, in the Magnus League championship, the two teams have faced each other twice and Rouen has two victories: 6-1 in its ice rink on Lacroix Island on November 10 and 3-0 at IceParc on November 29 .
The other semi-final will pit Briançon against Grenoble.
The Dukes of Angers have won the Coupe de France three times in their history: in 2007, 2014 and 2022. And reached the final in 1982, 2011 and 2013. Rouen, a giant of French hockey, has 6 success in the test. And is the double title holder of the Magnus, which he has hung on his prize list 18 times.
The semi-finals will take place on January 7 and 8, 2025. The final is scheduled for Sunday February 16 at the Accor Arena in Paris-Bercy.
Until then, the Magnus League continues with, this Friday, December 20, the match of the 28th day with a trip for the Dukes… to Rouen.
