At the World Short Course Swimming Championships which took place from December 10 to 15 in Budapest, Hungary, Senegal representatives Steven Aimable and Oumy Diop set new Senegal records.

Through a press release sent to wiwsport, the Senegalese Swimming Federation announced the results. During the World Short Course Swimming Championships – 25 m in Budapest, Hungary this 12/12/2024, Steven Kilian AIMABLE improves the Senegal record in the 200m Butterfly Men with a time of 02:01.15 and on 13/12/ 2024 that of the 100m Butterfly Gentlemen with a time of 0:52.94. The old records for the 200m Papillon Gentlemen (02:14.41) and the 100m Papillon Gentlemen (00:53.08), were achieved respectively on 07/11/2015 by Ismaël KANE in Sierre and on 17/12/2022 by Steven Kiliane AIMABLE in Melbourne.

Oumy DIOP improves the Senegal record in the 200m Butterfly Ladies with a time of 01:00.77 and on 14/12/2024 that of the 50m Butterfly Ladies with a time of 00:26.45. The old records for the 100m Butterfly Ladies (01:01.54) and the 50m Freestyle (00:26.74), were achieved respectively on 17/12/2022 by herself, the young 21-year-old swimmer in Melbourne and on 15/11 /2018 by Jeanne BOUTBIEN in Singapore.
