Dakar, Dec 19 (APS) – The Pan-African Movement of Young Leaders (MPL) kicked off, Wednesday in Dakar, its sixth forum on irregular emigration, which continues until Saturday, to propose bold, sustainable and supportive solutions, noted the APS.
”The purpose of this forum is in particular to analyze the causes of irregular emigration, but also to propose bold, sustainable and united solutions,” declared Khary Niane, president of the Pan-African Movement of Young Leaders of Senegal.
The sixth edition of this meeting is being held from December 18 to 21 on the theme ”Irregular migration of African youth: causes, consequences and solutions”.
The launch took place in the presence of several personalities, including Landing Biaye, president of the Pan-African Movement of Young Leaders, Alassane Diallo, representative of the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture.
”The tragedy of emigration, which is shaking the African continent, is not only a human tragedy, it is also the symptom of a profound imbalance in our societies caused by poverty, lack of economic opportunities, weakness of the educational and professional system, political instability and armed conflicts,” analyzed the president of the Pan-African Movement of Young Leaders of Senegal. `
Faced with this situation, it advocates effective actions, notably the creation of attractive job opportunities for young people, quality professional training, investment in education, among others.
For his part, the president of the MPL, Landing Biaye, considers that irregular migration is a “human disaster to be stopped”.
”We must offer our young people the means to stay in Africa to earn a dignified living,” he pleads, recalling that the African population will number 2.8 billion inhabitants by 2050, including more than two thirds are aged under 35.
”It is necessary to do everything to meet the needs of these young people in the areas of education, health, training and employment. If this youth flourishes in all areas, the African continent will truly become the center of the world, because it is full of many resources and an abundant workforce to develop,” believes the president of the MPL.
For his part Alassane Diallo, representative of the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, urged young people to stay in the country to participate in its development alongside the State.
”The State relies on human capital, especially young people, to develop the country,” he underlined, assuring that ”the government will make a lot of effort in professional training and employability of youth”.
