Senegal in the world top growth spot for 2025: an attractive report

According to the latest report from the Economist Intelligence Unit, Senegal ranks in the ‘Top 20’ high-growth countries for 2025, alongside other African nations such as Rwanda, Libya and Ivory Coast.

This document reveals that nearly 44 African countries will post higher growth rates in 2025, illustrating encouraging economic dynamics on the continent. Senegal’s economic strategy, based on anticipated growth of 8.8%, is underlined by the finance law currently under discussion.

This progression is based on solid foundations such as improved economic conditions, a better tax situation and an increase in foreign direct investment. Key sectors such as hydrocarbons, fintech and renewable energy are expected to see notable growth.

Competition for African resources is intensifying between global powers such as the United States and China, also massing the Arab Gulf which is eyeing infrastructure development. Despite the bright outlook, the report said 28 African countries are continuing economic reforms under the auspices of the IMF, while facing persistent challenges such as inflation and geopolitical tensions.

This report was reviewed by ‘Le Soleil’, which highlights the competitiveness of Senegal in this global context.
