In an article published this Wednesday, December 18, the newspaper Les Jours published an article about a private Facebook group on which racist publications and calls for murder appear on a regular basis. Julien Rancoule, National Rally deputy for the 3rd constituency of Aude, is part of this group and would have shared his political news without denouncing these nauseating publications. The parliamentarian denies having any knowledge of the racist nature of this group.
What is Julien Rancoule doing on a Facebook group with racist publications and also calling for murder? The online media Les Jours published an article on Wednesday, December 18 on a private page, with 6,500 members created in 2015, entitled “National Rally (direction 2027!)”. Problem: many nauseating publications are posted. “Go back to your coconut tree, bamboola”, “These black people are really harmful”, “Hunters like to kill? Let them go hunting in the cities”reports Les Jours.
A problem echoing another: fifteen deputies from Marine Le Pen’s party, including that of the 3rd constituency of Aude, Julien Rancoule, are members. Concerning the latter, the parliamentarian from Limoux joined the group on January 7, 2022. That same day, he wrote a publication: “Hello everyone, I invite you to like the page of our opposition group RN at the town hall of Limoux (11)”, with a link leading to its page. In January 2022, Julien Rancoule is not yet elected deputy, he will be elected on June 19, 2022.
The elected official also sent us screenshots showing that he had not made the slightest contribution to this group. Unlike two other parliamentarians like Alexandre Loubet and Alexandre Sabatou, deputies from Moselle and Oise who would have obtained the badges of “hot contributor” et “best contributor” of the group.
No reaction to racist posts
But then why not have reported the actions of certain members when he is elected to the Republic? And why not react? “I joined this group with my personal account. Today I never go there. You can see, I don’t post any posts unlike my professional page. I’m going to leave this group. If I had known, I would have made a report”he said.
According to the parliamentarian, during this period, he had joined numerous groups to promote his young political career. “I must be in 150 groups. But the posts on there are unacceptable. I don’t see myself in that at all”specifies the far-right MP.
